Birthdays: Brenda Rodriguez and Mandy Rogers

                  Jenny Psota (May 16th)

Mr. and Miss Haltom 2014 as announced by Mrs. Edwardson at the Class of 2014 Awards program on Thursday, May 15th:

“Good evening…I have the distinct pleasure of announcing our most prestigious non-academic awards.  These students were first nominated by Haltom High School’s faculty and then voted on by the senior class of 2014.  The first student winner is truly a standout here at Haltom High School.  He always has a smile on his face and is always willing to help out a friend, faculty member and most likely, a stranger, whenever asked.  He is an exceptional young man in every sense of the word.  Prairie View A & M will have the honor of adding this stellar young man to their student body next year.  I could not be more proud to announce that the 2014 Mr. Haltom is Coy Casbeer.”

“Now I will move on to Miss Haltom.  This young lady has been described as a very determined young lady that sets goals and works ceaselessly to achieve them.  This is why she is one of Haltom’s best.  She exemplifies great leadership skills by being involved in extracurricular activities and AP courses.  Academically she is ranked in the top 10% giving her Academic All District Honors the last three years.  She is also a current member of the National Honor Society.  Most recently, this young lady has been named to the USAV High Performance team and has been invited to participate with the USA Junior National Team.  Ainise Havili is Haltom High School’s 2014 Miss Haltom."

3 Riddles To Start The Week

What can you catch but not throw?

What goes around the world but stays in a corner?

I have holes in my top and bottom, my left and right, and in the middle. But I still hold water. What am I?

Ruth Cooper celebrates:

Karen Valle Rosales has turned around her academics since her freshman year and with the help and influence of Keith Bishop is scheduled to graduate next year on the recommended plan.   She is one of the biggest turnarounds I have ever seen.  She now is talking about going to college.
